Rae’Soleil Sun Goddess & Dj Causaltee – The Movement EP
Rae’Soleil Sun Goddess and DJ Casualtee collaborated to present this EP earlier this year. With every listen, I am more grateful to have come across this unique project which acts as a personal reminder to those like myself, that there are others out here which the same intuitions and intent. You may or may not catch the powerful messages which happen to reflect the current energies on the earth and changes we as people (humans) are experiencing individually. It is refreshing to find more artists who are authentically breaking the mold when it comes to the lyrical content of their art. Check out this stunning porject for yourself and support…

Saint Tiimbre – Body Moves EP & Visual
As soon as I hit play to take in the sounds of Saint Tiimbre’s latest project Body Moves, the lights dim as some atmospheric dance scene grips my imaginative brain, every single time. The emerging San Franscisco group consists of vocalist/producer Natasha Adore and producers Amp Live and Julia Lewis. This is another collaboration made in heaven, as every other song takes me to similar places. It is a soulfully melodic dance record released through Little Friend Records. Each track has a retro vibe. Keep up with this group through the links and also check out the official visual for the lead song, Body Moves, below. Enjoy! soundcloud.com/saint-tiimbre facebook.com/sainttiimbre sainttiimbre.com…

Traedonya – Simply Beautiful UR Feat. Irish Soulflower
To prepare for the release of her EP High Fructose & Corn Syrup, Traedonya recently unveiled a smooth recreation of Al Green’s Simply Beautiful. The songstress is also know as The Bride Of New Funk Hipopera. She makes the song her own with impressively strong and soulful vocals that do the lyrics justice while creating a unique spin that makes it feel brand new. There is also a poetic verse on Simply Beautiful UR by Irish Soulflower, which stands out and completes this version. I loved this song immediately and I know you will enjoy it as well! Vibe to it for yourself below and flow the links for more…

Dark Corners Where We Find Particles Of Light Mix (+Download)
I created this mix in the span a couple of days, adding in many of the songs at the very end. I really enjoy the way it came together and hope you enjoy it as much, as well as support the amazing artists I have featured. We live in a world polarized by darkness and light. The theme of this mix is formed through the many topics and scenarios expressed through each song. I believe that our darkest experiences and struggles can either break us down completely, or lead to pure liberation and lightness. I hope that anyone going through a challenging time in life can find something pure to…

The Underachievers – Chasing Faith x Rain Dance x Allusions Visual
In preparation for their new album, Evermore: The Art of Duality, The Underachievers released a desert/Vegas themed visual. The cinematic trip of a music video features three songs from the album, including Chasing Faith, Rain Dance, and Allusions. It might remind of a certain Johnny Depp film, Fear And Loathing. Issa Gold regularly reiterates that his intention with music is to speak to those who break the mold and might feel like outsiders and/or depressed and unite the generation. He’s stated, via twitter, that he only raps because it’s the greatest platform to spread his message. Chasing Faith, in particular, grabs attention with those themes and happens to be my…

Plewto Smith – Night On Edgewood & Freckled Girl Visual
I challenge you to play this song, without dancing within the first minute or singing along by the end. Plewto Smith’s Night On Edgewood is made for getting us up and moving, or at least bobbing our heads enthusiastically as we watch everyone else from the sidelines. I recommend having this on your end of the summer playlists! The rapper-turned-singer also released a video for Freckled Girl, from his EP #PUSSY. He is doing episodes of promo in order to assist him with expenses of a Chance The Rapper feature. The video for that might make you laugh, a lot. Show some support for local artists! I think Plewto Smith…

Val DaGrain – Major Criimes & Unicorns Visual
Since the artfully conscious play that is 2 Cents was released last year, we have heard a powerfully reflective song by Val DaGrain called Truth Hurts. This one was directed by OTBLyfe and fits in well with all of the other thought-provoking and enjoyable visuals Val DaGrain releases. Enjoy! More Val DaGrain Videos Major Criimes & Unicorns

Aaliyah Jams Mix (+Download)
I thought it would be cool to compose my latest mix with remixes, features, rares, and flips of our favorite music Aaliyah and her team created during her time on this earth. I noticed that there are, literally, hundreds of Aaliyah remixes and mixes online. I combed through many of them to pick out a few of my favorite ones to add to a list of her songs I feel are not celebrated and known as the rest. So, here is something fresh to honor one uniquely influential artist. I hope you enjoy it and share with your friends! This one might stream only temporarily, but is available for download…

BLKSUNCHILD – Low Off The Hii EP (+Download)
The Low Off The Hii EP is a must-listen which was released by the artist who goes by the name Blksunchild. This album features some superb lyricism. I was immediately impressed when I came across it. Blksunchild is a multi-faceted artist who also creates beautiful original sketches and paintings. I have found myself attentive when listening to each song on this gem. I played it several times after my first listen, only to catch more of his lines. Take in the sounds for yourself and also support Blksunchild’s art and his other music through the links I’ve gathered. Included is the mini-story for a new favorite of mine, Vice City…

Tiron & Ayomari – The Great New Wonderful LP (+Visual)
Tiron & Ayomari are doing something really cool with their new album, The Great New Wonderful, one I’ve anticipated since following The Wonderful Prelude parts 1 & 2. I believe these are necessary artists that have come about time because of the enlightening messages they so thoughtfully incorporate into each their projects. I deeply appreciate many of the ideas being explored and questioned throughout this one, including self identity, love, comfort zones, and change -to name a few. It is refreshing to have music to go to which reminds of the good things you are, and of your potential when you feel hopeless and paralyzed by events of life, while…
