Lost In Love is a truly beautiful project by upcoming R&B gem, Bria Zhanae, which I feel will speak to many people as loudly as it spoke to me upon first listening. I happened to catch this fantastic bandcamp release a couple of months ago and thought I would finally share. This singer-producer duo calls themselves The Ethnics and their unifying new release titled Recently gleams with rhythmic soul jams that I got into immediately, upon listening. I also quickly noticed that they reflect on many true to life situations. I suspected that MoRuf was cooking up something amazing when I first heard his freestyle over one of my favorite, classic Erykah Badu jams, I Want You. He has been a stand out lyricist since they dropped the endlessly vibey collaboration with Iman Omari back in 2012, Euphoria. Recently, the Jersey native released a new project for the summer called Loosies, which includes the Badu melody and other new favorites of mine. Dan∆logOne is a fantastic Virginia-based producer/creative, who just unveiled a new electronic project this past week, Neoteric2. This has easily become a new summer’s go-to. The EP is formed of instrumentals that range from trappy and higher tempos, to slow and chill vibes. I enjoy each one, especially the remix to The Weeknd’s Earn It, as well as the opening track Moongroovin (Neoteric 2).
