Greighwolfe – Black EP
The first song that I heard from the latest and what I mustered up as the very first EP from Greighwolfe had me HOT! No, I don’t mean that I was angry. I mean that in the same way that most of the music from Sade or The Weeknd makes me feel. That song was Hurt Me and it lead me to the rest of this brilliant project called the Black EP. Listening to this only a few times has lead me to put Greighwolfe in line with other great modern artists, such as Gary Clark Jr, who bring back the feel of good soul with elements of rock and…

a k u a – One’s Company EP
I should have shared this discovery months ago, but it’s never too late to have your world rocked by some stellar vibes. This is one of the most overlooked EPs of the year and I just don’t understand why this is, so, here I am with another ultra special musical delivery. Akua’s sound gives me a sense of some heavy other-worldly vibes, which we adore here on the froliC. Many of the visuals I found to go with this EP are just as ethereal, dark, and metaphoric as the songs themselves. I hope she gets to glow for more people soon, including myself, such as on a stage here in…

Malia EP
New soul goddess alert! I already look forward to hearing more from Malia’s gorgeous, soothing voice! The sensuousness of the opening song Satisfaction makes me want to vibe out in a dark room with some candles and maybe a few loved ones. I can imagine her live set as something similar. The messages of growth and enlightenment on this project are perfectly crafted and this excites me. Dull Aches has me locked in pretty tight. The project also features a collaboration with The Internet. Take a listen, fall in love, and follow the links for more on Malia. maliavibes.com facebook.com/MaliaVibes

Tiffany Gouche – Fantasy EP
I caught myself staring at the cover art for this project for a while. I don’t know the artist, but I have to find out. I’ll also be bumping this EP for the remainder of summer, and the year. I loved this beautiful project even more after my second listen. There’s always something about the second listen that really hooks you onto something, I notice. The first one turns your head but it’s that replay that gets you to fall in love. The entire EP, from beginning to end is pure, fresh r&b genius to me. The bass on some of these songs is just amazing! Enjoy!

Allan Kingdom – Future Memoirs
Delivering some more NEW waves! I have been listening to Future Memoirs for a few days now, and it feels perfect to add to my growing list of music here on the frolic. The Spooky Black feature is what led me to this and other previous and equally stunning EPs by Minnesota native Allan Kingdom. Their collaboration on Wavey is one of my favorites, besides Evergreens, Souls, Famines, and Context, which all add a flavor to this rare sound. I LOVE the production on this project. Some of the sounds, when lined with his flow is really interesting and awesome! His amazing production skills and flow grants a high place…

FKA twigs – Two Weeks
Well, this is fitting. FKA twigs’ new visual for Two Weeks has her toned with gold while her main image is adorned with the wardrobe of an ancient queen. This woman is a true artist, from her visuals to her unique production for the record! While the video is directed by Nabil, you know from her previous visuals and her background that FKA Twigs has a lot of interesting things to share beyond her first offering her song writing and sounds. Thus far, I’m loving the direction and will be awaiting more visuals from her debut album titled LP1. I tend to get very blissfully lost in myself whenever I…

Princess Nokia – Dragons
I LOVE this! Princess Nokia, who was previously known simply as Wavy Spice, has blown me away all over again with her singing voice. When I first heard her hard rap on “The Butterfly Prequel” switch to a soft voice, I honestly thought the singing part to be a sample from some beautiful old song that I would never be able to find. Nope, she’s really just amazing all around. Hearing her latest release gave me energy and made me smile during a really low moment today. I’m grateful for that. I’m especially excited about Princess Nokia because she has a powerful aura about her and she seems to have…

Danny Watts – Poetic Effusions
Take a gander through the ripples of my mind. Messenger Series Vol. 1 – Danny Watts This song is brilliant. I haven’t known much of anything about Danny Watts before now, besides his voice and intricate patterns of rhymes the delivers with it. I have been listening to this Messenger Series Vol. 1 for months because I feel it is so p e r f e c t and relatable as a human being. After watching this new visual for his song Poetic Effusions, it is simply my duty to pass it on to you.
