TiDUS – Not Sorry (Visual)
A year since teasing a clip on Instagram, Tidus has finally released his song “Not Sorry” to the world. The song was first featured in the independent film Canal Street, led by great actors like Bryshere Gray (Empire) and Mekhi Phifer. It can now be streamed everywhere, and Tidus has made a visual to complement it. The etheric beauty of “Not Sorry” speaks for itself. I enjoy his enchanting vocals on this one. Being that this is the third of three single releases the musician has released this year, and one of many he has recently previewed online, we can expect more from Tidus throughout the year. His full project…

TiDUS – Hear Us Clearly (Visual)
Following up on his first single release of 2020, Tidus unveils his song “Hear Us Clearly”, along with a visual. This has come at a moment when his overall message is needed, perhaps more than ever. The state of the world is in an unsure place, but Tidus consistently speaks on the power of belief in oneself. In this particular song, he states that it is time for those with love and truth in their hearts to lead the way. As beautiful and flowy as the song is, I see it as also being a call to action for the listener. It is time to be in alignment with who…

TiDUS – The Watcher (Visual)
Tidus released his first new song of the year, with a visual to match. In the video for “The Watcher”, he is seen on a California beach with beautiful shots of the sun shining on him. This is another beautiful song from the artist, which uplifts the listener and inspires them to hold faith through the motions of life. Whenever I listen, I feel a flood of light in my being which prompts me to stand up and move. One of my favorite lyrics chants “I don’t compare my life others that’s just nonsense / We all going through a struggle not a Contest/ If it ain’t happen for you…

TiDUS – My Energy Visual
Late last year, TiDUS began teasing his fans with short previews of new music. He then released two songs, Honestly and FYTB. Both singles sparked more anticipation for his upcoming project titled Once Your Believe In Yourself. A couple of months later comes the incredible official video for his latest single, My Energy. Although the artist has yet to share an official date of his new album, it’s common for him to spring his releases on us, surprisingly. We can expect definitely more new sounds soon. This simplistic video features a lone TiDUS, dancing and delivering inspiring words over a self-produced beat. The music true to his style and showcases…

Having built a following since they dropped a breathtakingly beautiful introductory song called Work This Thing Out, Louisiana band Honeyvibe has finally unveiled their official first single. TheSummerSong has an organic rock feel, layered with lots of happiness-inducing instrumentation to light up this summer season. It’s the perfect song to cruise out and hit the beach to, as demonstrated by the visuals through their VEVO release. The video features an animated version of band members JST David, Ric Jones, and Bruce G. Reid Jr., cruising around as colorful mirages embodying fun summertime energy flash above them. The animation was done by the visual artist Howard Morris. Check it out for…

Jhene Aiko – B’s + H’s Visual
While she has yet to make an official announcement of her new LP, nor an EP, Jhené Aiko’s latest song B’s & H’s ignites hope that we will be receiving one, in the near future. The flame grows even more with the new music video. As the world’s many perceptions of women is being called to attention, while also shifting, you will notice there is a new aspect of this topic being focused on, frequently. Online and in person, energy is high with debates related to the subject. As a woman, I find it exciting to have a slew of artists reflecting their angles on such topics in their art.…

Etta Bond – #bad4me, 4U, & Met Him Visuals
There has not been a single Etta Bond that I have not felt to my core, in the smoothest way. Since baring her truths and shedding light to the ongoing discussion about gender roles and the liberation of women through her jam Seen & Never Heard, Etta has been on a wave. Really, she has been dropping gems on us at random since last year, but we now have a few of them, back to back. The soothing #bad4me is the third of the slew of new songs she’s unveiled over the past two months, with stimulating imagery to match. Each is a collaboration with random producers she called for…

Anna Wise – BitchSlut Visual
My ears first heard the wonderful jam that is BitchSlut, back at Anna Wise’s first solo performance at Low End Theory club, late last year. I brought a friend along who had not heard her group Sonnymoon‘s music before, and this friend easily fell in love with the vibes that were provided that night. I also anticipated the moment that would allow me access to this particular song, whenever, especially before a night out with my crew. It is fun way to present such a perspective. The second single from the songstress’ upcoming project now has an official music video, which was shot on an iPhone 6. The pool scenes…

Plewto Smith – You Don’t Know Me Visual
YOUR HEART IS INSIDE. REVEAL YOURSELF. Are the words written as a message attached to a box Plewto Smith journeys toward in the latest visual from his #PUSSY (Pure Urban Sensual Satisfying Youngin) EP. This project is one of my favorite fresh listens of the year. He exhibits pure, originality that makes me excited to see and hear more from him.You Don’t Know Me is one of the powerful songs I felt from his vocals alone, and the video for it stuns as his “paper heart” is revealed.
