TiDUS – Not Sorry (Visual)
A year since teasing a clip on Instagram, Tidus has finally released his song “Not Sorry” to the world. The song was first featured in the independent film Canal Street, led by great actors like Bryshere Gray (Empire) and Mekhi Phifer. It can now be streamed everywhere, and Tidus has made a visual to complement it. The etheric beauty of “Not Sorry” speaks for itself. I enjoy his enchanting vocals on this one. Being that this is the third of three single releases the musician has released this year, and one of many he has recently previewed online, we can expect more from Tidus throughout the year. His full project…

TiDUS – My Energy Visual
Late last year, TiDUS began teasing his fans with short previews of new music. He then released two songs, Honestly and FYTB. Both singles sparked more anticipation for his upcoming project titled Once Your Believe In Yourself. A couple of months later comes the incredible official video for his latest single, My Energy. Although the artist has yet to share an official date of his new album, it’s common for him to spring his releases on us, surprisingly. We can expect definitely more new sounds soon. This simplistic video features a lone TiDUS, dancing and delivering inspiring words over a self-produced beat. The music true to his style and showcases…

Rub n’ Alc – Poison IV
Rub n’ Alc released the perfect new song for the peak of the summer. We are familiar with the duo through their collaborations with Cub J. Hailing from both Evanston and Chicago, in Illinois, they are currently preparing to release a special new album entitled Increase the Drip. The introductory single Poison IV is indeed a “trippy” masterpiece—fluid with smooth instrumentation that left me bopping my head from the very first beat. Along with the other songs you can stream via their official SoundCloud, the music embodies many classic rhythm and blues elements, while creatively touching on themes of mental illness. Like many of my favorite dance-inducing jams, Poison IV…

Honeyvibe – TheSummerSong Visual
Having built a following since they dropped a breathtakingly beautiful introductory song called Work This Thing Out, Louisiana band Honeyvibe has finally unveiled their official first single. TheSummerSong has an organic rock feel, layered with lots of happiness-inducing instrumentation to light up this summer season. It’s the perfect song to cruise out and hit the beach to, as demonstrated by the visuals through their VEVO release. The video features an animated version of band members JST David, Ric Jones, and Bruce G. Reid Jr., cruising around as colorful mirages embodying fun summertime energy flash above them. The animation was done by the visual artist Howard Morris. Check it out for…

ROSEWATER – Gemini. and Beer & Udon / While We Pretend EP
One of my favorite new-school lyricists, Blksunchild recently began to unveil some beautiful instrumental work under the alias ROSEWATER. The first project, Beer & Udon/While We Pretend EP is lush with dreamy and curious experimental sounds. He describes its purpose, saying “It’s hard to feel nowadays, so all I want to do is promote ‘feeling.’ It’s real simple, I’m here for yall.” The frolic fully welcomes and appreciates this sort of intent! There is a major jazz flair to the track dedicated to Amy Winehouse: FlowersForAmy—which is one of my favorites from the introductory project. You’ll also hear nostalgic anime voiceovers guiding us through the songs, along with other samples…

Xavier Isme – Next
Did you hear about it? A previously featured artist by the name of Xavier Isme has returned, with the creative new track Next. The song has been unveiled as the first of new collaborations between Xavier Isme and the producer The Produce Isle. While music like his reflective song Monotone caught my ear, these lyrics showcase confidence and growth, delivering a fetching hook and verses you would think were composed by any of our favorite veteran MCs. This fresh approach inspired and rekindled my appreciation for the younger artists who are intent to make their own space in the evolving Hip Hop realm. It is apparent to myself that Xavier…

Traedonya – Simply Beautiful UR Feat. Irish Soulflower
To prepare for the release of her EP High Fructose & Corn Syrup, Traedonya recently unveiled a smooth recreation of Al Green’s Simply Beautiful. The songstress is also know as The Bride Of New Funk Hipopera. She makes the song her own with impressively strong and soulful vocals that do the lyrics justice while creating a unique spin that makes it feel brand new. There is also a poetic verse on Simply Beautiful UR by Irish Soulflower, which stands out and completes this version. I loved this song immediately and I know you will enjoy it as well! Vibe to it for yourself below and flow the links for more…
