I made this curation specifically for women to play as they tap into their inner goddess energies, however that might look and feel for them. It covers multiple spectrums of femininity, and specifically invokes the awakening feminine spirit. Delving into my true femininity as empowerment has become an important part of my life and practices, and I hope every woman who comes across this playlist will share it with another woman they appreciate.     As a true r&b/soul music junkie, it is not easy to find NEW songs about genuine romantic love between two people. These days, we are stuck with basic club and sex anthems, with the occasional heartbroken melody breaking through the airwaves.     OSHUN – Asase Yaa (+Download)

    Half-way through this project, I noted that the aura of Asase Yaa reminds of the ever relevant The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. While sonically, Oshun is within their own fresh realm, I feel that this project speaks directly to the present youth culture in a way that the aforementioned did, at its time of creation. It also reflects the ongoing change of consciousness and awareness of culture (specifically bblack) in America. Oshun delves beautifully deeper into the complexities of Afro culture, religion, and African identity in America.
