    Close Mix (+Download)

Here is something new for the men to play…for the ladies and all lovers. I enjoyed selecting this playlist, which began as a follow-up to Love Maker, but took off to be its own synchronistic vibe. As you might have noticed by now, I am a great fan of slowed down music, especially when it’s stuff from the 90’s. I was sure to include some of my favorite throw-back r&b jams, touched up and remixed, as well as brand new gems which you will definitely thank me for later. All of these dope artists can be found throughout the web, including Soundcloud and Bandcamp. Support them and download this playlist…

Ankhten Brown & Eyedress – 420/20 Vision EP

Listening to Eyedress of Babe Slayer led me to many other dope musicians he supports, such as Ankhten Brown. The two released a collaborative EP called 420/20 Vision on the universally acknowledged holiday for lovers of our little green herbal friend. As usual, Eyedress’ production is beyond being on point, while he adds a few verses to the project as well. Ankhten Brown’s stunning lyricism is the other main focus as he goes on non-stop through-out many of the tracks. My current favorites are Emperor Steeze, Mowgli Jesus, Black Sheep Boyz, and Booty Vision. Listen for yourself below! eyedress.bandcamp.com facebook.com/AK47SHIP facebook.com/babeslayer777

    Loe – Blue Moon

Loe is back with a new complete project called Blue Moon, in collaboration with Nedarb Nagrom. This is the first one I have heard from her since her debut helloe. While she has been unveiling recent songs on her soundcloud, I am ecstatic to hear something complete from this intriguing vocalist, once again. She has her own way of beautifully singing somber songs with a smooth approach that does not leave me feeling sad, but entranced in her words. This one also features other artists like Little Pain, J Trauma, Tama Guicci, and others you may or may not have heard. Some of my favorites from this project are Fria,…

    Alexandria – Promise EP

I agree with the currently common idea that the massive catering for the soulful r&b junkie has been lacking for a few years now, but anyone who claims that r&b is done is tragically sleeping on artists like the ever-refreshing Alexandria. Her latest EP Promise is pure quality, filled with her stunning high notes and the sort of jams that give me the warm feeling that old school does, to this day. My favorites are You Ain’t Gotta Lie and Fly. Check it out for yourself below and enjoy. alexandriaofficial.bandcamp.com facebook.com/likealexandria twitter.com/Thee_Alexandria

    Jhene Aiko – B’s + H’s Visual

While she has yet to make an official announcement of her new LP, nor an EP, Jhené Aiko’s latest song B’s & H’s ignites hope that we will be receiving one, in the near future. The flame grows even more with the new music video. As the world’s many perceptions of women is being called to attention, while also shifting, you will notice there is a new aspect of this topic being focused on, frequently. Online and in person, energy is high with debates related to the subject. As a woman, I find it exciting to have a slew of artists reflecting their angles on such topics in their art.…

    Etta Bond – #bad4me, 4U, & Met Him Visuals

There has not been a single Etta Bond that I have not felt to my core, in the smoothest way. Since baring her truths and shedding light to the ongoing discussion about gender roles and the liberation of women through her jam Seen & Never Heard, Etta has been on a wave. Really, she has been dropping gems on us at random since last year, but we now have a few of them, back to back. The soothing #bad4me is the third of the slew of new songs she’s unveiled over the past two months, with stimulating imagery to match. Each is a collaboration with random producers she called for…

    Anna Wise – BitchSlut Visual

My ears first heard the wonderful jam that is BitchSlut, back at Anna Wise’s first solo performance at Low End Theory club, late last year. I brought a friend along who had not heard her group Sonnymoon‘s music before, and this friend easily fell in love with the vibes that were provided that night. I also anticipated the moment that would allow me access to this particular song, whenever, especially before a night out with my crew. It is fun way to present such a perspective. The second single from the songstress’ upcoming project now has an official music video, which was shot on an iPhone 6. The pool scenes…

    TiDUS – Soon You’ll Understand EP (+Download)

It has been a couple of years since Tidus dropped his last project, New Age, which included note-worthy songs like Delancey, Without a Care, and Apocalypse. He released this prodigious follow up titled Soon You’ll Understand. The EP comes to us via his unique label For The Future, and marks what I feel is the beginning of a authentic movement within music. It would be hard to listen and not be inspired by the originality of this sound. Tidus lyrically looms from his peers, not only through his these dreamy beats produced by Villabeatz and Ed Weathers of Fast Life Society, but also his spiritual perspective. The way he uses…

    Fresh Produce – Duce

Duce is the latest musical offering from lyricist/producer duo DJ Red-I and Playne Jayne. These artists hit even harder than with their profound introduction, We Are Fresh Produce. I always enjoy their storytelling style. With rhymes like these, which instantly grab attention and will have your mind vivid with imagery, the entire album only reiterates how special and relevant this group is to Hip-Hop. Dj Red-I’s beats are something fresh while embodying the golden era. My current favorites are Black Brittany, Duce Is The Crew, Hit Him Up, Gold Pieces, They Left Me, and 2000 Years.
